Fellowship with God - Chase Durham
1 John 1:5-6 says, “5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, We lie and do not practice the truth.”
Many people say that they are a Christian but their lives do not bear the fruit of a Christian. They do not come to church regularly and often, they do not have daily habits of reading the Word, nor praying to God. Instead their lives look like the lives of their non-Christian friends. John’s letter is plain, simple, and in your face - If you say that you are a Christian but you walk in the darkness, you lie and do not practice the truth. However, in verse 9 he says, “ 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Students, confess your sin, continually set your eyes on God, bear Godly fruit, and run after Him this school year!
