Designed to Reflect God - Chase Durham

In Genesis, we have been tracing the stories of Abraham, Isaac, and now Jacob.  Through these men God is going to bring the Messiah and establish his eternal covenant with His people.  In Genesis 35, the Lord instructs Jacob to lay aside all of his idols before he can worship God, He changes Jacob’s name to Israel, and He re-commissions Israel.  God reminds him of all of the promises that He has made and commands him to “Be fruitful and Multiply”.  This is the same command that was given to Adam, Abraham, Isaac and now to Jacob.  God designed His people to reflect Him.  We are to reflect Him and spread Godly fruit throughout the world.  If you are wondering what your purpose in life is, it is reflect God, be fruitful, multiply, and to spread His Name.
