Weekly Review - Lizzie Weichel
This week, I have the opportunity to record what happened in the Youth Group!
Chase began this week by teaching service Sunday. From Genesis 12, He explained how we are to go and be the aroma of Christ. Abraham was called to leave his country, kindred, and family and in return God promised to make him a great nation and give him a great name. When Abraham heard God’s Word, he immediately obeyed and left everything. Once we become a Christian, we cannot sit in sin. We must hear the Word of God and obey immediately like Abraham!
Continuing on to Wednesday, Creek Games stayed competitive as both Middle School and High School combined for the scavenger hunt. Canada and Romania were both on the leaderboard for the first time in 3rd and 2nd place respectively. However, Albania topped the scoreboard again. The most important part of the night, however, was Leon’s lesson about fighting sin. Through joining in community, staying in the Word, and running from sin, we, as Christians can fight sin.
Finally, Jake ended the week by teaching theology class about the two Protestant sacraments: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Jake described that while they are both symbols, they are so much more than symbols, because they have such a profound meaning to Christians in their faith. Theology on Thursday was a great way to cap off an awesome week!
