Sphere of Influence - Kyla Chastain
Right now, think of a friend or family member. What are their favorite things to do? How do you know? It's because you notice that they do it all the time. We all have something we love to do, whether it be sports, learning, cleaning, or sleeping, and it shows everyone that you love to do it. Be real. What do you do throughout the week that everyone takes notice of? Do peole notice your love for God?
We all have our circle of influence. If I walked into a middle school in Florida and said, “I'm gonna tell you about Jesus,” nobody would listen to me because they don’t know me. But you can tell others in your classroom about Jesus, because they know you and you have influence in their lives. Look at Romans 10:14-16.
14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?c And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?”
We, as Christians, need to tell others about Jesus, so that when the day of judgment comes, they will be saved! What stops you from sharing the Gospel? If we love God, then we should love people. Death is reality. One of your jobs as a Christian is to warn people about the consequences of their sin and point them to God. If you love something passionately, then you will tell others about it. Do you love God passionately? When we love God like we say we do then we will love others like we say we should. Don't judge, love. Do a litmus test with your life. Do you mimic the footsteps of Jesus? Or do you go the other direction? We hold the cure to all sin - JESUS. Now, we need to tell others about Him.
